# Collections Overview

> Use bluSwap Collections to accept customer payments via UPI, cards, and net banking. Follow the three-step flow: initiate, present, and confirm.

bluSwap Collections lets you accept payments from your customers through UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and net banking. When a customer pays your business, you initiate a collection request, bluSwap creates the payment flow, and you receive a confirmation once the transaction completes. The three steps below walk you through the full lifecycle of a payment.

**1. Initiate a Collection**

Choose a payment method and create a unique `order_id` for the transaction. Send the request to the Collections API and receive the payment data for your selected flow — this could be a UPI intent URL, a QR code payload, or a hosted checkout link.

**2. Present the Payment Flow**

Use the data returned in the previous step to display the right payment experience to your customer. Open the returned intent URL to launch their UPI app directly, render the QR code on your checkout page for them to scan, or redirect them to the hosted checkout URL to enter their card or net banking details.

**3. Confirm the Final Status**

Receive payment updates automatically through your configured callback URL, or actively query the transaction status using the `order_id` you created in step one. Use the confirmed status to trigger order fulfilment in your system.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Treat every initiated payment as **pending** until you receive a successful callback or a confirmed status response. Never fulfil an order based solely on the initiation response — always wait for the final payment confirmation.

## After a Payment

Once a payment completes successfully, you can issue full or partial refunds against it. Use the refund endpoints to create a new refund, track its progress, and list all refunds associated with a collection. Refunds are available for any payment that has reached a final successful state.
